swiss stone pine

We like to give you some intersting information about the "king of the alps"

Wood is hygroscopic, which means it can absorb moisture from the surrounding air and release it again.
The Swiss stone pine is the queen of the Alps, tough and adaptable, it has spread throughout the Alpine region and forms a high Alpine protective and forest community, especially with the larch.

It is the most frost-hardy tree, can withstand temperatures as low as -43°C and can live for up to 1,200 years.
The Swiss stone pine has the lowest wood weight of our native forests. This, and the fact that the fruit of the stone pine contains 70% fat and 20% protein and was considered one of the most important foodstuffs until a few centuries ago, makes it one of the most valuable trees in the Alpine region.
It is also deeply rooted in the local culture as timber for building and furniture.

"The results of our studies show that a solid Swiss stone pine bed has a measurably positive effect on sleep quality and at the same time reduces the heart by 3,500 heartbeats per day."
University professor Dr. Maximilian Moser

"The special wood of the Swiss stone pine requires special processing. Our carpentry businesses have the necessary experience and enthusiasm to process it according to its many positive properties."
KommR Georg Steixner, guild master of carpenters in Tyrol

The "Queen of the Alps" is making a brilliant comeback, especially in the wake of the low-energy and passive house boom.
As a material that perfectly harmonizes functionality, sustainability, value and contemporary design with the need for clarity, security, comfort, health, relaxation, continuity, mobility and communication.
