If a vacation with children is to be a success, the most important thing is that the children feel comfortable. We speak from our own experience. This is the only way we parents can switch off and take a deep breath.

We always strive to give all guests at the Bergerhof an unforgettable vacation, even the youngest among you. With us you can be who you are. Children should be able to move freely, whether loudly or quietly. We have children ourselves and they are not quiet all day long. Children should be able to jump around in their "slacks", scream when they feel like it, ask as many questions as they want and, above all, move freely and carefree in nature.

To make the vacation more relaxed for the parents, we would like to give you the following information:

You have forgotten something at home, we have children ourselves 😊, just let us know and we will definitely find a solution
No matter what happens, we have washing machines - just let us know
The children can play freely in the playground in front of the house
The toys can all be used. However, we would like to point out that some of the toys belong to our children. We therefore kindly ask you to treat them with care and to return them to their place.
We are happy to provide you with the following items free of charge:
Travel crib, fall-out protection, changing mat, diaper pail, baby bouncer, back carrier, night light and high chair. We also have a baby monitor and a baby carriage.

However, we ask for your understanding that we only have limited availability.

The only thing we are strict about is the elevator. We kindly ask for your understanding that the elevator is not a toy. Please allow children to ride the elevator only when accompanied by adults.

Great tips for your unforgettable summer vacation:

Nature trail at the Kalser Stockmühlen - approx. 10 minutes' walk with children from our house.

The Kalser Stockmühlen are located under high larch and spruce trees and invite you to linger, marvel and above all discover nature. You have the possibility to hike the nature trail to the Taurer - approx. 1 hour with children and return with the post bus, for example

or just visit the Stockmühlen - approx. 15 minutes' walk with children from the Bergerhof.

Recommendation: In summer, when it is hot, you will find a wonderful natural cool-down here, otherwise we recommend packing mud pants and rubber boots for the children.

Playground in the lower Ködnitz:

Take the road behind our house towards Grossdorf and follow the stream path to the left before the bridge towards the church. You will be accompanied by the rushing Kalserbach stream on the hike to the playground. Tip: This route is perfect for an easy bike tour with children.

Walking time Bergerhof - playground with children approx. 1 hour along the stream

Suspension bridge in Kals:

Who would have thought that you could even find a suspension bridge at the foot of the Großglockner. Lucky for us, it's even close to us. The suspension bridge is part of the valley circular hiking trail in Kals and the Bergerhof - suspension bridge - Bergerhof circuit is easily doable for older children in around 2.5 hours. Adventure-seekers will get their money's worth here.

Great tips for your unforgettable winter vacation:

floodlit ice rink in the Unterburg - near Michl's Sportbar

The ice rink is small but nice; it can be used free of charge at any time and is even floodlit in the evening. You can hire ice skates from Sport Gratz.

If you fancy a round of curling, you can do so by appointment at Michl's Sportbar.

On the toboggan, ready to go

In Lesach you will find the Fallwindes toboggan run. You have to earn the fun of tobogganing down. After a leisurely one-hour hike through the romantic winter forest, you have made it and arrived at the Fallwindes hut.

The opening hours of the Fallwindes hut can be found on the notice board at reception. You can hire toboggans free of charge from the ski depot or take them down from the toboggan hut for a fee. Use of the toboggan run is free of charge.

Parking: Eleparte in Lesach - approx. 7 minutes by car / Lesach bus stop with the post bus or ski bus

(both buses are free of charge with the guest card)

Cross-country skiing in the romantic winter forest

Have you ever tried cross-country skiing? You'll find a practice trail at the Taurer. You can get there by ski bus or by car. You can find the cross-country ski trail map at reception. You can hire cross-country skiing equipment in all sports stores and book a teacher at the Skischule Kals.
